I just got a call from the Oregonian and was told that Navarre has been named restaurant of the year. A strange and wonderful declaration. Over the years there has been so much hard work. Figuring out how to open the doors with Garcia and Susan. Working out our relationship with farmer Laura and how to process and cook all the produce she has been able to grow for us. There has been so much hard work by so many people, in the kitchen and on the floor. The thing that really stands out in my mind are the regulars that have braved the quirkiness over the years and have supported Navarre by eating and drinking and sharing a small bit of their lives with us. The richness that I have been privy to enjoy over the years with those that I work with and those i get to serve and dine with has been extraordinary. I really want to thank everyone for the support and also ask for patience with all the attention this may bring.

John,

I am absolutely thrilled for you and with you! I can't think of a more deserving restaurant or restaurateur!

I am looking forward to my next visit already.

Congratulations.

Congratulations! Always been one of my favorites. Well deserved. A stand out in a city that is beginning to suffer creeping LA-ism. The only downside is that the lines will be even longer.

Cheers!

Navarre has been our restaurant of the year for a few years now and is definitely our favorite (home away from home). Congrats to you all! It is well deserved!...and there's no way the lines will keep us away!

Such a thrill for you all. As a long time customer I couldn't be happier and was glad to time my Friday evening visit on 12 June for the champagne toast.

Am only sad that my husband, Michael Navarra, didn't live long enough to see your success. He use to always tease me about going to Navarre all the time.

Down in SF today we were recommending your restaurant to a friend traveling to Portland next month! Told her she couldn't miss it..........congrats on being named the best.

We decided to have dinner at Navarre after all the great reviews we heard. The "owner's wife", as she introduced herself talked us into going in as we stood outside trying to figure out the menu. The food was good, but the service was painful. Waiting to have your order taken, to have your dirty dishes cleared ,to order dessert, to get the check and to pick up the check. Somehow our server became oblivious of our appearance and the owner's wife ended up waiting on us. This was such a downer to our dining experience. Too bad

Congratulations! looked you up to plan to stop on ways to and fro CA from Seattle this week. Enjoyed your cuisine so much during art stay (with Korean visitors) in early April. Love the pictures of your vegetables!
